These URLs are about 60 characters long. After the first 30, Plurk stops URLs counting towards your character limit, but that still means 30 characters each!

is.gd lets you make it much shorter, and by adding “/x.gif” at the end of the URL it gives you, you can make the emoticon still work in Plurk, at only 15 characters!

Here are a few examples (all by me, all public domain, use as you wish!)

    is.gd/Isd/p.gif - pterry, terry pratchett
is.gd/Isv/s.gif - stamp, penny black, patrician
    is.gd/Isx/f.gif - farrier
    is.gd/IsA/c.gif - club
    is.gd/IsB/a.gif - axe

I’m considering making a li’l util to replace these automatically when you type, eg, “:stamp:”, etc on a Plurk page. The replace string, and the emoticons, would be user definable of course. Anyone interested?

Thanks Veronica but most credit has to go to Eric; he took the initiative to set it up the way it is and add those plurkoticons and the plurkcast. I’ve just been a writer since ~ day 1 and now the custodian here :)

Being almost as addicted to emoticons as I am to Karma, I think it goes without saying that I LOVE THESE!

Thank you so, so much for sharing with us ;)
